Entity Dip and Buff

What is Dip and Buff?

Entity Dip and Buff is an alternative to traditional Acrylic overlays. It is an acrylic system, but is applied by dipping the nails into extra fine acrylic powder rather than using the traditional application method. As it is not a gel it does not require a nail lamp to be used. It gives the strength of acrylics with the look of a Gel Polish. Available in a range of colours and finishes Dip and Buff can be used as an overlay on natural nails, for short extensions using a tip and can also be used as a base for a Gel Polish treatment.

And now it’s over to you…

  • Firstly, and maybe most importantly — treat your nails as jewels.  While Entity Dip and Buff is acrylic so is strong, it isn’t indestructible, so don’t use your nails as tools.
  • Wear gloves for housework, gardening etc to protect your nails (and hands).
  • Use cuticle oil and hand cream daily – if possible twice a day. Hand cream will moisturise your hands and keep them younger looking, and cuticle oil will nourish the nail root and keep the cuticles soft and supple.
  • Never pick or peel your Dip and Buff Acrylic. Your manicure should last at least 7 days and in many cases up to 2-3 weeks. If you do have any chipping or damage, please contact me and I will take a look for you. Your Dip and Buff Treatment will show regrowth as your natural nails grow. When you are ready to remove the Dip and Buff Acrylic either do this at home following the home removal leaflet or come to the salon for removal as part of your next manicure.
  • Appointments should be booked every 2-3 weeks to allow the Dip and Buff Acrylic to be either removed and a new colour applied, or an infill to be to be carried out if you are having the same colour or something darker. By this time your nails will be showing regrowth. Future appointments can be booked before leaving the salon.
  • If you do need to file your nails, use a 240 grit nail file as this is the highest grit that should be used on natural nails. Think carefully about the length of your nails at your appointment and make sure they match your lifestyle.
  • The Dip and Buff system does not require use of a nail lamp as it is an Acrylic system. If you have a Gel Polish applied over the top please follow the advice in your Gel Polish leaflet too.
  • And finally… enjoy the shine and lasting wear of your Dip  and Buff. Show off those nails!
